Gerry Florida: Pittsburgh PA
I have been an artist for many years with a particular passion for jewelry.
As the owner of Florida’s Estate & Jewelry Gallery,
I collected extraordinary estate, vintage and contemporary jewelry pieces for my private collection,
many of which later influenced my eclectic designs. Early in my art career, while working as the head
glass designer with Paramount Glass Studio, Marcel Glass and Glass Classics Studios of Pittsburgh,
I developed my fascination for glass. I learned the fundamentals of glass design from Nick Perendo of Hunts Stained Glass Studio and soon after apprenticed and worked with one of the areas top glass designers, Bill Klug of Art Glass Environments. Not only did I design for the traditional religious settings but also I was privileged to be present during the rebirth of the art as it transitioned into more contemporary design and use in commercial, residential and art settings. After suffering an unrelated but immobilizing chemical exposure in 1999, I was left with a respiratory injury that disabled me from working in the media I most loved. Always in the process of recreating my art identity, I combined my passion for jewelry, art,
glass and antiques to develop an eclectic mixed media style using vintage and contemporary glass, plastic and metal beads and findings as well as wire, clay, acrylics, fabric, wood, bone and anything conducive to stringing or wiring to create inspiring one of a kind jewelry pieces that I describe as “Painting with Beads” Jewelry Design Series Classes / All Skill Levels / Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced, Master Classes /

Handcrafted jewelry graphite/pen drawing computer art I have been creating art
in one form or another for as long as I can remember. Most of my time is spent
designing and creating jewelry with sterling silver, gold, genuine gemstones, pearls,
Swarovski crystals, lampwork beads, and many other materials. I'm also presently
learning the art of metalsmithing which has been something I have wanted to do
for many years. All jewelry for sale on http://ww.artisme.net can be customized in
various colors and sizes. There's something for everyone and I would be happy
to create a OOAK piece of jewelry for you. My motto is: "I live to create and create to live."

A self-taught artist, my background is in the fields of electronics and
semiconductor equipment. My dyslexia has only added to my
ability to look at the world from all angles. I call my works "technomontages".
They are a fusion of art and technology. This wearable artwork ranges
from jewelry to sculptures.
